Iain McMillan grew up in the suburbs of South Lanarkshire, Scotland. His writing depicts a contemporary view of working-class life detailing the inner world of his characters in his own unique style. His work was first seen through contributions to various magazine and fanzine publications before he released his first novel “The Boy with the Thorn in his Side”. The journey of Frankie growing up in the 80s and 90s from the football terraces to the dance floor is told in a no holds barred style where there is no room for bravado or pretence. His latest novel “The Money and the Honey” set in Scotland in the 90s, follows a group of grafters selling t-shirts around the biggest and best gigs. The group dance to their own tune despite the struggle for love, money and the big time constantly pulling them in different directions.

When not sitting in front of the keyboard Iain is active in his local community and is a founding member of men’s support group Keep the Heid. The group promote positive living to men of all ages and have carried the message from classrooms to prison cells throughout Scotland and the group continues to flourish. He’s a lifelong supporter of Motherwell Football Club and despite the passing of time he can still be found on the terraces or dance floors to this day.
